Smashburger is at it again, opening another Colorado location, this time in Boulder.
But theyve added a little twist this time, offering some unique menu items.
As a Denver-based company, we are excited to spread our burger magic across the state and into Boulder, says Smashburger founder Tom Ryan. We are proud to introduce our first Smashburger to Boulder and know its residents will appreciate the variety of made-to-order options on Smashburgers menu.
The restaurant opens March 10 at 1650 28th Street, in Boulder on 29th Street Mall.
Smashburgers traditional menu has already gained a strong following, but the new Colorado inspired dishes will soon be at the top of diners lists.
The Colorado Smashburger is a one-third or half-pound Angus beef patty that is smashed, seared and seasoned on the grill, then topped with grilled fresh green chilies, melted cheddar, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a toasted chipotle bun.
Not in the mood for a burger? Then the Colorado Smashdog, an Angus beef hotdog with similar toppings, might make the grade.
But the most unique item is exclusive to the Boulder location the Black Bean Smashburger, a black bean patty smashed, seared and seasoned, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo and fresh jalapenos topped with tortilla chips on a chipotle bun.
Smashburger, which was named the Denver Business Journals Power Book winner for 2009 in retail and product marketing, was founded in 2007 by Ryan, whos also managing partner, and David Prokupek, board chairman. The first store opened in Lafayette in June 2007 and 10 locations were added across Colorado by the end of 2008. The company has sold franchise agreements that will total more than 275 locations over the next five years.
