Smashburger, Denver’s homegrown hamburger chain, is making plans for expanding across Canada, the Calgary Herald reports.
The restaurant company opened its first Canadian location last May, in Calgary, and followed that with a second location in the same city a month later. David Prokupek, Smashburger’s chairman and CEO, told the newspaper the company: “Our first two stores are killing it.”
He said Smashburger intended to have 10 to 15 locations in Calgary over the next three to four years. The company’s third location in Canada is scheduled to open in Edmonton in May.
Prokupek said Smashburger could have as many as 50 locations across Canada in the next three years.
