Our menu variety continues with chicken two ways (crispy and grilled), turkey, and black bean burgers as alternatives to 100% Certified Angus Beef®. Did we mention we offer salads too?
Our array of savory sides include signature rosemary, garlic & olive oil SmashFries®, hand-spun milkshakes made with Häagen-Dazs® ice cream, ice cold Coca-Cola® fountain beverages, and a variety of bottled beers (at most locations) round out the menu to make Smashburger a perfect choice for any occasion.
What is a Smashburger?
Using our customized, metal smasher, designed to perfectly fit our patty size (fancy, right?), we press each patty onto the hot-buttered, seasoned grill to sear for 10 seconds. This caramelizes the patty and creates a flavorful crust, forcing the juices and flavor in the meat upwards. Need we say more?
With a solid grasp on food science and an appetite for top-notch burgers, there truly is a method to our Smashburger madness. Behold the Maillard Reaction. When our 100% Certified Angus Beef® heats up on the grill, a reaction occurs—in fact, you've probably experienced this first-hand without even realizing it! Most delicious things in this world result from the Maillard Reaction, as it produces a browning effect that comes jam-packed with mouthwatering flavors, aromas, and crispy caramelization. This is why we smash our burgers—with more surface area comes more prime browning real estate—thank you, science!
Our Beef
Starting first with quality, our burgers are made from 100% Certified Angus Beef®. To qualify for this certification, the beef must pass 10 science-based specifications for quality. With less than 8% of all beef in the USA meeting these qualifications, Smashburger uses 50% of this supply.
The Certified Angus Beef ® brand is a non-profit, owned by the American Angus Association®. The brand was created by Angus farmers to support their ranching efforts in raising premium beef. Their goal is to satisfy demand for high-quality, while ensuring the rancher's families could sustain their treasured way of life.
