Our array of savory sides, including our signature rosemary, garlic & olive oil SmashFries®, hand-spun milkshakes made with Häagen-Dazs® ice cream, ice cold Coca-Cola® fountain beverages, and a variety of bottled beers (at most locations) round out the menu to make Smashburger a perfect choice for any occasion.
WHAT IS A SMASHBURGER?
With a solid grasp on food science and an appetite for top-notch burgers, there truly is a method to our Smashburger madness. Behold the Maillard Reaction. When our 100% Certified Angus Beef® heats up on the grill, a reaction occurs – in fact, you’ve probably experienced this first-hand without even realizing it! Most delicious things in this world result from the Maillard Reaction, as it produces a browning effect that comes jam-packed with mouthwatering flavors, aromas, and crispy caramelization. This is why we smash our burgers – with more surface area comes more prime browning real estate – thank you, science!
Using our customized, metal smasher, designed to perfectly fit our patty size (fancy, right?), we press each patty onto the hot-buttered, seasoned grill to sear for 10 seconds. This caramelizes the patty and creates a flavorful crust, forcing the juices and flavor in the meat upwards. Need we say more?
WHAT KIND OF BEEF DOES SMASHBURGER USE?
We’re proud to say our beef is 100% fresh and never frozen Certified Angus Beef®. It is pasture-fed and corn finished, so you know you’re getting the good stuff!
DO YOU OFFER ANY VEGETARIAN ITEMS?
We offer a Black Bean burger. However, please note that it is NOT vegan, as it contains eggs and cheese. We also cook our black bean burger on the same grill as our chicken and beef, so cross-contact may occur. Our Brussels sprouts and fries are not vegetarian. All of our fried items are fried in beef tallow and are therefore not vegetarian. We have a number of fresh salad options that can be ordered without meat.
DOES SMASHBURGER OFFER GLUTEN-FREE ITEMS?
Yes, we offer a gluten-free bun option in all Smashburger restaurants across the country. We have also reformulated our burger seasoning to be gluten free. We cannot guarantee 100% gluten-free product, as we use the same toaster for all our buns and some other toppings (such as haystacks, etc.) do contain gluten. Cross-contact may occur, as shared equipment for menu items is used in the kitchen.
